父親是猶太人，而母親則是挪威裔的美國人。
1999年，在葛萊美頒獎典禮前，
Josh Groban 被 David Foster 選中，
代替未能出席的 Andrea Bocelli，
和著名的加拿大天后 Celine Dion 合唱《The Prayer》。
2000年～2001年在 Sarah Brightman《La Luna Tour》的演唱會，
與她合唱「There For Me」。
自此，
憑藉他成熟、感情豐富和男中音聲線而廣為人知，
也是一個曾被提名葛萊美獎的創作歌手。
